As part of my costume for the Marie Danse de Fleurs Grand Ball, I purchased a wig from Amazon.com.
The wig was platinum blond embellished with white and black roses and pearls. I removed the white roses and replaced them with some pink ones that would stand out more against the platinum blond. I added a couple of birds from Michael's Parisian Collection to give it a little more uumph as well.
Secretly, I've always wanted to be a blond so I was very pleased with the way it turned out. Tres Marie, don't you think?
A month ago I traveled to sunny Florida for the Marie Danse de Fleurs event hosted by the lovely Cassandra Van Curen. On Friday night of the event, we were to wear our interpretation of a Marie Antoinette inspired shoe. I took an old pair of shoes that I hadn't worn in ages and transformed them into a sweet black and pink pair to wear not only that night but to the Grand Ball the next night.
I'm Marian, like Maid Marian in Robin Hood, not Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island. By day, I'm a public relations professional. The rest of my time is spent as an artist, sometime poet, aspiring photographer, cupcake connoisseur, wife and mom. A Carolina Girl learning how to live as a Georgia Peach. I post on my latest creative endeavors, home decor projects and travels, being a working mom and what inspires me. I believe I'm creatively made and here to share my gift with others. I love all things pink, aqua, cream, girly, French and shabby chic. Vintage items, particularly ribbons, lace, millinery, rhinestones, German glass glitter, ephemera and Shiny Brite ornaments make me drool. Of course, my family, peonies, roses, bluebirds and chocolate also make me happy. Thanks for stopping by.
